These terms explain how buying from The Miniature Quasar works. Please read them before you place an order. By placing an order on miniquasar.com, you agree to these terms. Our Refunds and Returns Policy is part of these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live. If any part of these terms conflicts with those laws, the law wins.

1. Who we are

The Miniature Quasar is a sole proprietorship operated by Mehr Sagar, based in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada.

2. Who can buy

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order.

We sell to individual customers for their own use. Our licences do not allow us to sell to shops, distributors, or other businesses that want to resell our miniatures, so we cannot accept those orders.

3. Our products

Our miniatures are made to order. Each one is printed and finished after you order it.

  • Unpainted by default. Listed prices are for unpainted miniatures in our standard opaque vanilla-coloured resin.
  • Free matt black primer. If you would like your miniatures primed, send us a message with your order and we will apply matt black primer at no extra cost.
  • Painted miniatures. Painting is available on request. Please contact us before ordering. We will send you a written quote with the price and an estimated completion date. The commission is confirmed when you accept the quote in writing and pay the deposit.
    • Payment: a deposit of 50 percent of the agreed price when you confirm, and the other 50 percent when the painting is finished, before we ship.
    • When painting starts: we will email you when painting starts.
    • If you cancel before painting starts: we refund your deposit, minus the reasonable costs we have already spent on your commission, such as printing and priming the miniature or paints and materials bought specially for it. We will list these costs for you.
    • If you cancel after painting starts: the deposit is not refundable, because it covers the painting time and materials already used. You do not owe the balance.
    • If we cancel, cannot finish, or deliver very late: we refund everything you paid.
    • We will never keep more than the deposit.
  • Special resin. Some listing images show translucent or glassy resin. These are renders. Translucent resin is only available on request, so please contact us before you buy.
  • Assembly. Miniatures are usually shipped separated from their base. Wings and other delicate parts may also be detached, especially on larger models. You will need glue or epoxy putty to put them together.
  • Sizes. Sizes are described by scale or base size (for example 32 millimetre scale, or a 50 millimetre base for Large creatures). Actual heights vary by design. Ask us if you need exact measurements.
  • Small differences. Each miniature is printed individually. Your miniature may differ slightly from the photos and renders, for example in colour, surface texture, or small marks where supports were removed. These are normal for resin printing and are not defects. Defects are covered by our Refunds and Returns Policy.
  • Free mystery miniature. We currently include a free mystery miniature with every order as a thank you. It is a gift, chosen at random, with no cash value. We may change or end this offer at any time.

4. Safety

  • Our miniatures are collectible hobby models for adults. They are not toys.
  • They are not suitable for children under 14 years old. Children who use them should be supervised by an adult.
  • They contain small parts and sharp points that can be a choking hazard. Keep them away from young children and pets.
  • Do not put miniatures in your mouth, and wash your hands after handling, sanding, or gluing them.

5. Placing an order

  • Please check your order details and total at checkout before you pay.
  • When you place an order, we send you a confirmation email. That email forms our contract and is your copy of it. Please keep it.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order before it ships if: the item is unavailable, we cannot ship to your address, there is an obvious pricing or listing error, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we will tell you and refund everything you paid within 14 days.

6. Prices and currency

  • Our base currency is the Canadian dollar. To make shopping easier, we estimate your country from your internet connection and show prices in your local currency where we can. You can change the currency on the site.
  • The price shown in your chosen currency at checkout is the price you are charged, in that currency. Converted prices include a small margin to cover exchange rate changes and conversion costs. Your bank may charge its own conversion fees.
  • We are not registered for Canadian Goods and Services Tax or Harmonized Sales Tax, so none is charged on our products.
  • Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and the shipping service you choose. Apart from shipping and any tax shown at checkout, we do not add any other mandatory fees to the price shown.
  • Import charges are explained in section 9.
  • We may change prices at any time, but changes never affect an order we have already confirmed.

7. Payment

  • Payments on our website are processed by WooPayments, which is powered by Stripe. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.
  • Payment is taken when you place your order.

8. Shipping and delivery

  • Processing time. Because every miniature is printed to order, please allow 1 to 4 calendar days for printing, finishing, and packing before your order ships. Painted commissions take longer, and we will agree a timeframe with you.
  • Carrier. We ship worldwide with Canada Post, using tracked services only. Checkout shows the services available to your address.
  • Delivery estimates. Checkout shows the estimated delivery time for each service. These are Canada Post estimates and are not guaranteed. Customs checks, weather, and carrier delays can make delivery take longer.
  • Tracking. We send you a tracking number when your order ships.
  • Packaging. Every part is wrapped individually.
  • Delays. If we cannot ship your order within the processing time above, we will email you before that time runs out, give you a new shipping date, and let you choose to wait or cancel for a full refund. If you do not reply and the new delay is longer than 30 days, we will cancel your order and refund you in full.
  • United Kingdom. We do not ship to the United Kingdom from this website. Customers in the United Kingdom can buy through our Etsy shop at theminiaturequasar.etsy.com. Those orders follow Etsy’s terms and policies.
  • Countries we may not be able to ship to. Canada Post has suspended service to some countries. Checkout only offers shipping where it is available. If service is suspended after you order, we will contact you to agree another option or give you a full refund.
  • Your address. Please make sure your shipping address is correct and complete. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or the parcel was not collected, we can reship it once you pay the new shipping cost, or refund the item price minus the original shipping cost.

9. Customs, duties, and import taxes

  • United States: for orders shipped to the United States, our shipping charge includes the import duties we prepay on your behalf. You will not be asked to pay duties on delivery.
  • Outside Canada and the United States: any import duties, taxes, or customs fees charged by countries other than Canada and the United States are not included in our prices or shipping and are paid by the customer on delivery. The carrier may also charge a handling fee for collecting them.
  • If you refuse a parcel because of import charges, it may be returned to us or destroyed by the carrier. If it comes back to us, we will refund the item price minus the original shipping cost and any return charges Canada Post bills us.

10. Lost or late parcels

We are responsible for your order until it is delivered. Lost and late parcels are covered in our Refunds and Returns Policy.

12. Licensing

  • Our miniatures are printed and sold under commercial licences from their original designers. We hold a commercial licence from DM Stash, which allows us to 3D print and sell physical copies of DM Stash models to individual customers.
  • Each listing names the designer of the model. DM Stash models are designed by DM Stash, and DM Stash owns all rights in them.
  • When you buy from us, you buy a physical miniature only. You do not get the digital model files, and you do not get any right to copy, scan, cast, mould, 3D print, or otherwise reproduce the model, or to sell copies of it.

13. Free digital bonus

  • When you buy a full campaign set, or 5 or more miniatures from the same campaign set in one order, we include the matching DM Stash digital campaign pack (for example the campaign book and battle maps) as a free bonus. A printed link to download the free digital campaign pack is included inside your physical package.
  • The bonus is free. It is never sold separately, has no separate price, and is not included in what you pay for the miniatures.
  • Because it is free, it has no refund value. If your order is refunded in full, the bonus is simply not part of the refund, and we may withdraw your access to it. Please delete any copies you downloaded.
  • We provide the bonus under DM Stash’s licence, which allows us to give it free with the matching miniatures. It is for your personal use only. You may print it for your own games, but you may not share, upload, or resell it.
  • If a file is faulty or will not open, tell us and we will replace it.

14. Intellectual property

The text, photos, logo, and design of this website belong to The Miniature Quasar or our licensors and may not be copied without permission.

15. Reviews

  • We welcome honest reviews, good or bad. Please keep them respectful and about your own experience with our products.
  • Reviews shown on our site may come from our own site or from our Etsy shop. We show where each review came from.
  • We do not write fake reviews, and we do not offer payment, discounts, or gifts in exchange for positive reviews. Our free mystery miniature goes with every order and does not depend on leaving a review.
  • We may remove reviews that are offensive, spam, or contain personal information, but we will not remove a review just because it is negative.

16. Our Etsy shop

We also sell on Etsy at theminiaturequasar.etsy.com. Etsy orders follow Etsy’s terms and policies.

17. Payment disputes and chargebacks

If there is a problem with your order, please contact us first. This does not limit your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.

19. Limitation of liability

  • To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
  • To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order, or for business losses.
  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. It also does not affect your legal rights as a consumer, including any guarantee that your products are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

20. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as postal strikes or natural disasters. If this happens, we will tell you, and you may cancel for a full refund of anything not yet shipped.

21. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. However, if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of the country, province, or state where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where your local law allows.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on the website when you placed it.
