Kira Solseth \u2013 Rogue of the Arcane<\/h2>\n

A dropout from the University of Ardris who took her arcane talents to a life of crime. But with the current state of Belfrie\u2019s Criminal underworld, she prefers her odds in an arena of sand and blood than waiting for a knife to find her back in the streets. It\u2019s given her time to add some flair to her fighting, and should she return to her life of crime, she knows she will be a force of reckoning.<\/p>\n

In Kira\u2019s Third Year at the University of Ardris, she fell away from her studies. A trip to Velandria had her cross paths with the Rossa Cartel, and by extension, fall under their employ. Thieves gifted with the arcane were a rarity, and the Cartel was offering far higher pay, and more exhilarating work, than anything that she might find after her studies were completed. Thus she dropped out of her studies, paying back her tuition to her parents after her second gig with the Cartel. By the third, she had bought her own house in the city. By the fourth, her own shop to begin laundering her money, which was coming in quicker than she could spend it, even on frivolous goods.<\/p>\n

Yet such good things do not last forever, nor does blood gold become untarnished. Skilet died only two years after she had joined the Cartel, throwing it into a bloody underworld succession war that still rages today. Her place as a Lieutenant painted a target on her back, even if she had no interest in backing any one claimant. The only winning move in such a game is not to play, so she left, abandoning all her belongings so that no trace might follow her, fleeing north. There, she found the Crucible.<\/p>\n

Gold flowed plentifully for those well-acquainted with a blade, or the arcane, and Kira was well acquainted with both. Whilst the Crucible has been a temporary source of revenue for her, she aims to return to Velandria when the heat has simmered, and the incessant bloodshed in its underground has ceased. Until then, she would rather fight toe to toe with a foe in front of a crowd, than have one plant a dagger in her back in the dead of night, alone.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The set<\/span><\/p>\n

The Crucible of Belfrie is a well known secret amongst the elite of Tharador\u2019s nobility and high society. A bloody arena hidden in the mountains and run by the Belfrian Merchant League. It is currently undergoing its yearly tournament, with plenty of fresh blood to be spilt on the sand, and imposing monsters from across the continent to be battled. Though beneath the gold and glory, a nefarious conspiracy is beginning to stir.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The campaign<\/span><\/p>\n

In Dire Tidings Pt I the party each receives a mysterious letter summoning them to the city of Velandria. There they are brought to the Crucible through a teleportation circle, finding they have been chosen by a mysterious sponsor to form a team for the latest tournament. Blood will be traded for gold as they fight their way to the championship of the arena, uncovering a dastardly plot as their battles progress.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
