Xanathos the Dreadful \u2013 Irinax\u2019s General<\/h2>\n

One of the first Drow whom Irinax spoke to centuries ago. Xanathos has held unwavering loyalty for his patron since his dark whispers echoed through his mind. In turn, his loyalty has been rewarded, given a place as a general among their army, tasked with the ultimate eradication or forced conversion of their Glanbelite kin. Xanathos has struggled to achieve his goal, for their tenacity, but has sown seeds that will wither their resolve from within.<\/p>\n

Xanathos was a young boy when he first heard the whispers in the dark. A guiding voice drawing him into the blackest depths of Lo Fuin\u2019s labyrinthine underground. It was there that the boy was chosen. Him, and a dozen others. Irinax was its name. It lived in each of their minds, and bound them together in a drive to honour his will. They first organised in a clandestine cult, which only grew overtime as the voice\u2019s promises grew greater, imbuing them with more and more power as they in turn brought more worshippers and sacrifices to its shrines.<\/p>\n

Years later, Xanathos has emerged as one of the highest generals of Irinax, and is one of the few survivors who heard Irinax\u2019s whispers when it all began. His task has always remained the same: convert or eradicate all the Glanbelite Drow, so that they might know Irinax\u2019s embrace. Whilst he has struggled with this over the years, he now believes he has finally sown the seeds to see Glanbelite society crumble from within. Once the foundations begin to crack, he will deliver the coup de grace.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The set<\/span><\/p>\n

The Drow of Lo Fuin have long been a secluded people, owing to the deadly nature of their homeland. In recent years, the Glanbelite Moon Drow have open limited contact with outsiders in the expeditionary outpost of Zander\u2019s Peril, but that has suddenly ceased. A schism is brewing within the ranks of the Moon Drow, and they suspect outside influence to be the cause, be it the Overworlders, or their Irinaxi Spider kin. Either way, they are now at each other\u2019s throats, and peace is carefully balanced on a knife\u2019s edge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The campaign<\/span><\/p>\n

In Schism of the Drow the party undertakes a quest that no other adventurers at Zander\u2019s Peril dare: to escort a conjurer through the deathly swamps of Lo Fuin to the Glanbelite Drow city of Hirika. Whilst the journey itself is seen as nigh-suicidal with the friendly Drow no longer tending the route, finding entry to the city may be almost as difficult. If the party does manage to make it inside, they will find that tensions within the ranks of the Glanbelite Drow are bubbling, and the fabric of their once-peaceful society is beginning to unravel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
