FAQ
Are the miniatures painted?
The regular prices on our store are for unpainted miniatures. You can send us a message to inquire about painted miniatures here.
Can you add primer to the miniatures?
Yes! We offer free matt black primer for any miniatures you'd like to paint on your own, so it'll be ready to paint as soon as you receive it. The primer should also make the miniature a little bit stronger, so there's less chance of it breaking during shipping. Just send us a message with your order, and we'll arrange it for you.
Is shipping safe?
We individually wrap every mini, base, and other parts, along with special packaging to ensure they arrive safe and sound. Also, all the packaging is biodegradable and safe to recycle according to your local rules, except for the plastic wrapping around the miniature parts.
What is your returns policy?
You can return anything for a refund within 14 days of receiving the order. If there was no issue with the order and you just changed your mind, you would be required to pay return shipping if you are returning it. If there was anything broken or any damage to your miniatures, please contact us, and we will assess and issue a refund to you.
Do the miniatures ship assembled or in parts?
Our miniatures are shipped assembled if they are not too delicate, but are usually separated from the base. Wings and some other parts may also be detached and need to be put together, especially for larger models. This is to ensure that none of the delicate pieces break or get damaged during shipping.
How do I assemble the pieces?
To put the pieces together, you could use epoxy putty, super glue, or any strong glue that works for plastics. Please note, you would often have to hold the pieces together for a couple of minutes to make sure they join together, if using glue. Most of the miniatures should have imprints where they are supposed to join, and you can look at the pictures on the website to make sure you are doing it right. Feel free to contact us if you need any assistance!
What's the Free Miniature offer about?
You simply get a free mystery miniature with your order! No requirements, every order gets one. It will be a random character from our store. If you order multiple minis, you may even get more than one for free! We send these to express our gratitude to our lovely patrons.
What is the standard size for miniatures if I want them to play D&D and other table-top RPGs?
The standard size you are looking for is the 32mm one. And for the Large and Huge sized miniatures, they are usually monsters or other creatures that are supposed to take up more space on the table, so they are also for playing. The 75mm ones are much larger versions, so they are more for decoration or painting.
How big are the large and huge sized miniatures?
The height of the large and huge miniatures varies a lot depending on the design, so there is no standard height. Instead they are categorized based on the diameter of the bottom of the base. Large-sized miniatures have a base diameter of 50mm and Huge-sized ones have a base diameter of 75mm. For specific measurements on any model, please contact us and we'll be happy to give you the exact numbers.
What's up with the translucent/glassy resin that some of the listings show?
That's just for some of the renders that we can print with special glassy resins. Normally we do only print with the same opaque vanilla-coloured resin, so it will be the same color as the rest of the model. If you really want translucent resin for your models, please contact us before you purchase and we'll see if we can arrange it! The translucent resin usually ends up looking more cloudy than in the renders, but it can be varnished to give it more of a glassy look.
What kind of equipment and process do you use for printing?
We print our miniatures using an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra resin printer with 16K resolution (the highest quality available). They are printed using Elegoo Standard 3.0 Vanilla coloured resin, an expensive resin that ensures models are strong without compromising on the detail. The supports are cut off, the model is sanded if needed, and inspected to ensure perfection. The model is washed off with pure alcohol, then cured inside an Elegoo curing enclosure, then prepared for painting if needed.
Do you make the models yourself?
No, we work with DM Stash, a fantastic company that creates some of the highest quality models out there. However, they don't print the miniatures, so we are commercially licensed to print and bring them to you, so you can enjoy them too, without needing an expensive printer setup. Check them out here.
Should I shop here or on Etsy?
This website will always have better rates than our shop on Etsy, because Etsy charges a lot of fees when using their platform. If you want to go through Etsy just for safety or familiarity, that's completely understandable. But we hold our shop to the same standards, and would recommend that you shop here instead. Find our shop on Etsy here: TheMiniatureQuasar.etsy.com.
